Final Post

Lets get started

#1 Self Regulation. my class attendance is pretty good I have been here on time almost every day except for a few flex days but a have no access to the school's attendance so a I cant prove it but I'm sure you'r on top of it. Missed work I have missed possibly one but I haven't counted because in some of my earlier posts I mashed two into one.

my behaviour in the class is the same in all my other classes, I find a table or a couple guys I like and watch them talk to each other and intervene at moments. I also believe that I have made a good choice by sitting at this table because these guys are very helpful we work together and if someone is lost we help them out, plus Arman and Ryan helped me log onto the computer. My strengths and weaknesses,  I have noticed that I am not good at making ideas, starting paragraphs and writing formally and I'm good at getting lost in my own head going to far into depth on one topic but if I focus hard I can get it done because I dot have anything distracting me...like a good phone. If there was one thing I could do more of is comment, I do know that class contribution is a big part and I am just not very good at writing comments going back to my weaknesses I'm not good at making things up on the spot that help other people.

#2 Quality of Communication Skills.

making reasonable predictions, this was taken from the descution of being detectives and finding clues in the novel
visual aids.  I have pictures in multiple post, here are some of them.

listening actively. During our class together you (Mr. Neuf) talk alot, lots of blabbing and random noise here and there not all of it makes sense but its entertaining and seem to be always listening because your talking is similar to how my brain works, it gets of topic easily and I can always hear it

#3 Contribution to the Learning Environment. While in the writing process i will stop and look back at what i have done and make changes if needed but I usually don't get them all so I print it out and have my LST teacher help with the editing because my writing doesn't make sense sometimes and she helps me with that. the one thing I did like about the comments is the conversations on different topics I was good at reading all the comments and peiceing them together to see if i was right even though most of the time I wasn't right.

Aliens 5

It was under the carpet, the first time in two weeks it was able to get itself anywhere in the house even in the walls. Craig remembered what he did last time to scare it off last time,he ran to the front closet where he found his aluminium baseball bat and tried his best to hit it but it was just to fast Craig thought to himself "it must have gotten bigger since last time". Now Craig was stomping in combination with smashing his bat on the floor, Then he stopped he could hear no sound It was quiet, Craig thinks"it must have ran off again because i don't remember hitting it" Then Craig glanced at the clock it was 11:00 o'clock then he walked into the kitchen to look at the calendar it was October 15 2140, Craig was a lucky man he had inherited his house from his Mom and Dad who had also inherited it from there parents ect so it was quite old but with all the latest technology but nothing too over the top. Craig decided it was time for bed so he got in his pajamas and fell asleep.

The next morning the house looked different then he realized all the windows where pushed and locked into the frame and all the doors leading out side the house where mangled the hinges where ripped out and shoved in sideways and the locks where turned shut and broken "this couldn't have been done by a person, no one is that strong and machines would be to loud for me not to hear"  there seemed no clear way out of the house, Craig went into his kitchen to get his cell phone and call the police, and while he called he walked into his living room where he was fighting the carpet thing. He noticed his bat in the middle of the floor and the second he picked it up a baby Xenomorph came out of the carpet, and in reflex Craig screamed threw the bat and ran off the bat hit the alien in the head and it stopped moving but Craig didn't care he ran back into his kitchen.

cowering behind the island Craig waited for any kind of movement or sound but heard nothing, then he remembered his phone was in the other room calling the police. Craig rushed into living room wielding a kitchen knife and confronted with nothing but a ripped carpet hole, Craig looked for his phone but couldn't find it he looked around a bit more and still couldn't find it. Craig picked up the bat went to put the bat away and when he opened up the closet he was surprised to find all his jackets coats and sweater where gone and an open stainless steel hatch leading down that was hidden under his hardwood floors, Craig tried to close it but it would budge he decided to go get dressed and eat breakfast.

As Craig was upstairs in his room getting dressed when he heard heavy footsteps coming from downstairs, he was scared so he didn't move and heard the footsteps in the dinning room, then the den, into the kitchen and coming up the stairs. Craig stood very still and could hear the alien growling and drooling, it stopped right in front of Craig's bedroom door, Craig watched as the doorknob slowly turned and the door swung open. The last thing He saw was a tall, black, skeletal creature starring strait into Craig eyes.

Ring...Ring...Ring...Ring..."Hello you have reached the answering machine of...name not given...please leave a message at the tone". "Uh hello (sigh) i know your busy right now but you need to come down to... well you know where, there has been a contamination in our testing, its gone horribly wrong it seems that the creatures escaped there captivity. We are staring cleanup right now but patient Zero has been lost and we need your guidance..(sigh) goodbye...(click)

credit goes to Riley Scott the director and Wikipedia for telling me how to spell Xenomorph.

Short story Elemennts

Major Elements of Short Story By JeremyJohansson
1) plot
-introduction- the intro is when our main man is thinking to him self about the scenery and of what to do.
-conflict- the conflict here is, Man v.s Man, and the two men are the boy arguing with the Jamaican guy to change the bet and while the bet is happening.
-rising action-  when Carlos meets the boy and they start talking about his lighter.

-climax- When the old Jamaican guy has the boys hand strapped to the table ready to chop his finger off while the boy is lighting his lighter.
-falling action-  When the woman comes in the room and interrupts there bet.
-conclusion-  at the end when He thinks "I can see it now, that hand of hers; it had only one finger on it, and a thumb." When he sees the woman.
2) Character
- protagonist- an example of the main character is the guy who buys a beer and chills by the pool because we see the story through his eyes.

- antagonist- In this occasion the antagonist is our main character having to watch as Carlos is about to chop this kids finger off.
-static - I think the main character in the story is a static character because he is just along for the ride and has no input on the matter.
-round- the woman that busts into the room while there bet is happening and she seems like just a sweet lady with Carlos problem, then you see her hand and then you realize that she is the betting type.
- flat-
the flat character in this story is the English girl because she has one or two lines and she didn't like the bet and never will, so she never changes characteristics.
- stock character- Carlos your regular stereotypical rich Jamaican drug lord
- dynamic- I think the boy is the one that actually changes the most  he goes form not want to bet to let his pinky finger  be chopped off in order to possibly win a car.
3) Setting
-atmosphere- at first it starts off as a nice warm place then later on it turns into like a shady underground sort of deal
-time- the story says 6:00 o'clock while the sun is going down.
- place
- the story is set in Jamaica because the old guy is Italian, Jamaican and it says so in the story.
4) Theme
- I think the theme of this story is don't get involved with crazy rich Jamaican people
5) Point of View
-first person
- This perspective is used in this story by our nameless main character because he refers to himself as "I" and not his name.
-third person N/A
6) Foreshadowing
- When the old man says "I never ask you, my friend, to bet something you cannot afford. You understand?" he is foreshadowing that he is gong to ask for something out of the ordinary.

Summative Essay

To walk a mile in someone's shoes, at a literal standpoint it seems quite easy as long as you can walk a mile and your feet fit the other persons shoes. For me it would be quite challenging because I wear size 12 shoes and then trying to squeeze into size 8 and a half I think after that mile I would have giant blisters instead of feet. Enough about that this is supposed to be about the real meaning of "to walk a mile in someone's shoes" which is to see something through someone's eyes whether it's yourself, a song or anything else someone would have an opinion on.

Lets start off with "Romeo and Juliet," to me this movie, play, book, whatever it is will always remind me of the Movie "The Shining" by Stanley Kubrick, and its not because of  the elevator scene or REDRUM but how nobody really knows what its truly about. So I will skip the part where I tell you "Romeo and Juliet" "its about being friends with everyone" or "it's about some random prison break in WWII" So I'll get straight into it. Paris is a well known person who has a lot of money and is basically royalty without the title. But he is like your stereotypical creepy uncle Tom because you don't really know where he lives and shows up to all your party's and hides in your house during Easter. But during the end of the story he goes to visit Juliet's dead body and brings flowers and then you the viewer/ reader think to your self maybe this guy is't so bad after all, and then he goes and gets himself killed next to Juliet because maybe he did actually love her in not a creepy uncle Tom way and maybe he was acting that way because he was nervous about marrying a 13 year old girl.

"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time," This book is about walking in Chris's shoes because Chris is autistic and we are not (by "we" I mean in our class) so we get to take a walk a not so wild side full of logic, maths and finding a dog murderer. First of all he is writing a book for school but he is writing it in first person and along the way he tells us how he goes along his day and how he tells if its a good day or a black day. For most people a good day happens when good things happen to them like, you find free money, sleep in, or just hanging out with your friends and the same goes for bad days except everything is bad like, waking up sore, losing money or crashing your car and being stuck with people you don't like.

walking in someone's shoes is a great way to get to know someone or it could not be great, but then you know something about that person that you didn't want to know and it messes up your whole friendship (and vice versa). There are always ups and downs to every scenario so do everyone a solid and stay out of other peoples business to avoid all the negative effects of walking in someone's shoes.
